Hi, I'm not a Vet however I am a lifelong long animal lover searching for information.
I'm reaching out about Samson he is experiencing neurological issues and so far we have no solid diagnosis. This all started with a limp in his front legs approx. 4 months ago the only other sign was pain. Activity was restricted but no Vet visit until recent. Approx. 30 days ago I noticed some instability in his back legs, the problem has now progressed to all 4 leg instability, balance issues and fast. He slips on our laminate floors (never done this prior) like he's on ice skates, he slides down from a sit, started to knuckle at times on his front feet, falls over at times, shakes head often, kicks back legs excessively, unable to stand like normal to pee on 3 legs often falls, appears to be experiencing some level of Vertigo. He's had spinal x rays, blood work, fecal, Lyme disease test, urinalysis. We have ruled out Wobbler's syndrome, Vestibular Syndrome, Degenerative Myelopathy and Lyme disease. I am in need of support around herbs, supplements, diagnosis, detox etc. Lower back xrays show some degenerative disc disease but Vet agrees this is not that. He was in very good health and active prior to the limp in the front legs, I've had him since he was 12 weeks and he is on a 70% Raw/ Dehydrated/ 30% Nature's Logic kibble. I've added in a mushroom supplement for immune support and Krill Oil. I'm researching other supplements now.
I'm attaching a video I took of Samson on 10.1.20 which shows his imbalance issues. These imbalance issues and lameness are all NEW. The last time he was able to jump up into my truck was on 8.30.20, he now needs assistance getting into the back of our sedan. I'm working with two different Vets one of which is an acupuncturist and we see her today 10.5.20 for our second appointment. Update (10.6.20) I think acupuncture is working second visit was great. We see our other Vet tomorrow 10.6.20 for a laser therapy appointment and I will ask for more bloodwork at this time. Update (10.6.20) did not get the bloodwork done but did get a catheter style urinalysis done which was negative for bacteria. Vet has recommended I take him to the Neurologist for a spinal tap looking for bacteria.
I've taken Samson to Acupuncture, Chiro, Hydrotherapy and believe Hydrotherapy was way too much for him at this time as after 2 sessions he has gotten worse.
Current Plan- Rest, Immune Support (need more ideas), Pain Meds daily since 9.4.20 (Meloxicam), Acupuncture and Laser Therapy. He has not been placed on any antibiotics or steroids at this time. Update (10.6.20) Vet prescribed Doxycycline per my request.
Over the weekend I think I landed on what may be Samson's issue possibly Diskospondylitis not to be confused with Diskospndylosis. I believe Samson may have a bacterial or fungal infection. Hoping it is bacterial and can easily be cured.

On Tuesday 10.6.20 I will request another blood test and urinalysis looking for bacteria. Urinalysis did not show bacteria. Referred to Neurologist.
With Diskospondylitis one or more of the below bacteria will be found in blood or urine. The bacteria gets into the vertebrae and causes infection between the discs.
1. E. Coli
2. Staphylococcus
3. Streptococcus
