It would be done by a radiology specialist...though I might wait and work with her homeopathically first. She is not acting sick, or am I missing an opportunity to be proactive?
I'm adding this to information about Sunshine, since the above provides some context.
Sunshine is now 17 years, I am (was?) working with a homeopathic vet since Dec. 2019.
Sunshine continued to have blood in her urine off and on, but her BEAM was good, it improved further after giving Pulsatilla.
Had an ultrasound scheduled for March 17. Unfortunately, I had COVID at that time and had to reschedule.
For her new appointment, I would not be allowed to be with her during the ultrasound due to new protocols. Plus, I wasn't feeling 100% better myself. I decided to wait.
Sunshine continued to do quite well, though she did urinate a lot and sometimes I would notice faint blood.
A few days ago, I noticed a change in her appetite, wouldn't eat baked chicken breast or the canned foods she normally relished. Called the homeopathic vet and she was going to work on a new remedy. I called on Friday, but Sunday, she had perked up and ate chicken hearts and sardines. Her vet took longer to come up with a remedy, but by Monday, her appetite was worse, she was dribbling urine and making about 20 trips to the box.
The homeopathic vet suggested a urinalysis- so I took urine into my local vet. They said she had a raging UTI, gave clavamox, suggested an X-ray or an ultrasound, which I still need to schedule. There were WBCs, RBCs, bacteria, sediment and strange cells that they thought might be cancer cells.
Tuesday she barely ate, I gave fluids, and today she won't eat at all. I am finger feeding her baby food.
My homeopathic vet won't prescribe a remedy because I gave antibiotics.
With something like antibiotics, is it impossible now to use a remedy with her?
Any advice will be deeply appreciated.
Thank you,
Alice
My homeopathic vet did kindly prescribe another remedy to try- still lack of appetite and sleeping, or rather resting. I just can't believe she crashed like this.
