A good friend took her dog to Dr. Noonan for a checkup, found a tumor and sent them to the Norwalk VCA animal hospital.
The tumor is on her rib cage and its a sarcoma. She is scheduled for a scan to find the exact location. The estimate for the surgery is in
the $8-10,000 range.

Is there another veterinary hospital that may charge a bit less for this kind of surgery? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks,
Betty

Wow, that's pretty expensive! It may includes diagnostics like a CT scan and surgeries like a total removal of that part of the chest and rib.

Depending on the size of the timor, BEAM and other factors, it might be a good idea for them to start their pup on the actions of the Roadmap like more energy rich (fresh) food, sniff walks, more time in nature, healing intentions like from love, connecting, engaging and playing with others.

Dr. Lazarus at Rippowam in Stamford is an excellent surgeon and may be willing to tackle a surgery like this.

BTW-This info. isn't directly connected to cancer questions, but the mind-body connection in dogs is increasingly getting connected to all dis-eases. I think most pet parents already know this and it's even becoming clear to more vets that emotional state has a lot to do with a dog's ability to function optimally and heal:

That's why Happiness, Love, Connection and Environmental Engagement (more sniff walks!) are sooo important for quality of life for all pets (and people).
