Just finished watching video with Dr Sue. She mentions concerns for cruciferous vegs and hypothyroidism in dogs
I have been giving my hypothyroid dog the kale/blueberry smoothie almost daily. Kale is a cruciferous from what I understand. Emma LOVES this smoothie!!
Have I been doing more wrong than right with feeding her this.
she takes daily thyro tabs
Thank you.

Carol here again. Pulled out Anthony William book, Medical Medium.
His belief is that the cruciferous and thyroid information circulating is incorrect,
His take is that these vegs do tremendous good, even with thyroid issues.
Oh so many people,,,,oh so many thoughts!! :)

You're exactly right, Carol! The kale question is potentially confusing.

Disagreeing opinions about what to do for any veterinary medical questions is common (and confusing).

That's because the correct answer usually depends... on the context.

Every pet is more or less susceptible to any food, toxin, germ, etc.

I agree with Anthony that the benefit of the synergistic effect of all the nutrients in kale, especially when combined with wild blueberries, outweighs the risks from the isolated ingredient of iodine.

Love, fun and play are the quality of life factors to be focusing on!

Keep doing what you're doing and especially whatever she loves that engages her with the environment and nature.

Thank you Dr Jeff.
?love the it depends! I think most of HA folks know that’s coming!:)

To Emma’s smoothie I may add small asparagus and or alfalfa sprouts.
Try to take some myself, as my BEAM is sometimes lower than
Emma’s!! :)

Thought yesterday,,,caring of Emma is somewhat like taking care of a
98 yr old 2 yr old. Not that I’ve had that experience! :)
