Melanoma and Allergies

L

Lisa Storch

Hi. Our 9yr old lab mix Cassia (Cass) had an oral mass removed in early January, malignant melanoma with a high mitotic rate. Her lungs and lymph nodes were clear of any mastitis. At her oncology appointment we started the melanoma vaccine Oncept. Cass was on Apoquel for a couple of years for allergies but we stopped it immediately upon hearing her diagnosis. We’ve also used Otomax for her ears. Since stopping the Apoquel we’ve seen flare ups in her ears, on her chest and her paws. Last night she slept with some socks on to keep her from licking. Other then when she was a puppy she’s only received the rabies vaccine and we feed her raw. Her current diet is raw rabbit, celery juice, coconut oil, green mush & green veggies and we’ve been supplementing with CBD oil, colloidal silver and Zyflamend. Prior to diagnosis she was eating raw rabbit, pumpkin, flax oil, rehydrated veggie mix, green mush, yogurt & earth animal internal flea and tick powder and CBD oil. We removed the dairy and starchy vegetables. We have an appointment with Dr Jeff next week and we’ve been utilizing Holisric Actions and other resources to make the best decisions for her. We’re not going forward with additional surgery (to clear the margins) or radiation and have some hesitations about continuing with the Oncept.

Hi Lisa-

I'm so sorry to hear of Cass's malignant melanoma diagnosis :(

Thanks for starting this important thread.

It raises two big issues.

The first one brings us back to the recent Organon paragraph 8 discussion of the underlying cause for the cancer.

It is a very specific internal imbalance which effects her immune system.

This is also the underlying cause for her allergy symptoms.

This imbalance is why her immune system was unable to do its job of immune surveillance.

Ordinarily, the abnormal melanin-producing cells would be removed from her bloodstream before they were able to divide out of control.

The reason it's important to know about this underlying imbalance is in order to know how to best treat her dis-ease.

Which brings us to the second big issue which is determining the next steps for treatment.

The Holistic Medical Decision Making (HMDM) method can help you decide what to do.

The first step is to decide on your goal for treatment.

In general, goals can include saving life, quickly stopping a symptom with any method possible, or focusing on the internal imbalance and gradually relieving and eliminating symptoms.

In Cass's case, the goal is to maximize her quality and length of life with the intention of curing the underlying imbalance that produced her melanoma.

Surgical removal of a tumor is useful for rapidly eliminating many of the cancer cells, but it does not improve the internal imbalance or immune function.

However, with many fast-moving malignant processes such as her high grade melanoma, time is of the essence.

HMDM Step 2 is the research phase. With cancer your best bet is to do this along with a veterinary homeopath and oncologist. The latter can help diagnose and stage the dis-ease and the former can help you treat it safely and gently.

In my experience, the best way to get the best treatment outcome is by integrating the best of conventional care along with building and preserving her Vitality and Balance using homeopathy.

HMDM Step 3 is implementation.

You have already started this through surgery and the melanoma vaccine immunotherapy (Oncept).

This treatment is used in all patients who have high grade melanomas but cancers (like any serious dis-ease) needs more.

That is, personalizing the underlying imbalance and individualizing a treatment specifically for her.

For patients with cancer, this individualization process occurs during professional homeopathic evaluation and case management.

In addition, and as you know, there are very specific ways to optimize her response to treatment.

You do this using fresh food and raw feeding, optimizing her mental and physical stimulation, supplements like OncoSupport, OncoPlex, Omega-3s, Apocaps, etc.

As this forum thread develops, let's use it to address any of your other questions or specific problems that arise during treatment.

I look forward to meeting you and Cass next week.

Thanks Dr Jeff, we look forward to meeting you as well. We’re up to socks on 3 paws but all look to be improving with epsom salt soaks and topical colloidal ointment. We will look into the supplements you are recommending before meeting with you next week and we’re optimistic about getting Cass’s internal balance back in check so her body’s immune system can do the work to keep her healthy.

Great Lisa!

After you soak her feet, dry between the pads thoroughly using corn starch, talcum powder or zeolite.

How are you using the colloidal oatmeal?
