Hard stools

I was wondering if giving some digestive enzymes might be helpful? My one dog is approaching 17 and her stools were becoming inconsistent, sometimes too loose and other times too hard. I read where older dogs sometimes do not produce enough enzymes. I started her on the following product to help her digest her food better and it is working amazingly well. I am not sure this applies to your situation but just thought it might help.

Thanks for metion. I will try ask @Dr. Jean Hofve and @Dr. Jeff on this also 🙂

Is it a good idea to start her on that now?
Yup.
And could this probiotic be a good idea to give?
Sure, it's a good one to start with. Then keep rotating through others. When you finish with one probiotic, then start another, etc.

How often and how much is a good idea to give them?
Just follow the directions on the label. If you're more comfortable starting with a 1/2 dose, that's fine as well. Then work up to the label dose.

Yes. And you can always start lower and work up if needed.

And for how long should i give it ?
It depends on whether you're seeing any effect. Typically at least 2 weeks.

Rotating probiotics from Adored Beast, Visbiome, Rx Biotic, Probio Defense, etc.
