We are currently not feeding our raw fed dog (12 years old) edible bones. We have used seaweed calcium from the Pet Health & Nutrition Center (PHNC) before and are currently using Eggshellent. I was on the PHNC website about to purchase another seaweed calcium and saw that they have natural (beef) bone calcium.
I've seen seaweed calcium and eggshellent mentioned various times on the forum but not bone calcium/poweder. Is there a reason? Is one kind of calcium source better than the others? Or is it better to switch around?
In the bone calcium product description, it mentioned that egg shells are missing important minerals like phosphorus. Do raw meat/organs contain enough phosphorus? Do we need to be concerned about the phosphorus level?
Thank you for your input!
