Bout of cough in a young dog

Cooper (9mo bishon shitsu) had some gagging bouts. Nothing comes out. Feels like gagging. Has happened this morning and then also this afternoon. But with pauses in the middle. Feels like he has something stuck or he wants to throw up but nothing comes out. He goes back to normal. In between bouts his BEAM also normal.

is it some infection/cough or something else? Any ideas?

Couldnt attach a 5sec video of his cough. Anyway to do that if helpful?

Btw could this be a canine cough? Any homeopathic remedies for these?

Yes, Mike that's definitely one of the possible diagnoses.

Has Cooper been exposed to other dogs i the past few weeks?
