Woodpecker

I'm not really sure where to put this question regarding the forum.

We have less than an acre and we have a woodpecker that is determined to peck it's way into a brand new wood shed, and our wood siding on our home. We use no chemicals on our lawn and hence we have rabbits and many birds. Our neighbors have chickens, we even had a duck going walking through our yard recently. And there are many, many dogs in our neighborhood, including ours.

Does anyone have suggestions on woodpecker deterrents that would not affect the other animals, especially the dogs? I saw some that used frequencies in the 13.5 to 45 kHz. I would greatly appreciate any ideas.

Dr. Jeff,

Thank you. We have one owl. Maybe we'll get another for the other side of the yard/shed. Thanks also for the article for reference.

Based on the article, it seems the berries that have taken in our yard, after multiple years, might also be attracting the woodpecker, even with the netting.
