1. Your pet's name, age, sex
Sky is 4 yr old female

2. Neutering status: Never
3. Breed: Giant Schnauzer
4. Approximate weight: 80 lbs
5. What's their BEAM
B 9

A 7
M 5

6. Diet
100% raw meats of different kinds (all grass fed), sardines and treats (all natural/1-ingredient treats like bully sticks/natural beef jerkeys, organ meats) 1 x a week will give her a small amount of cheese sometimes since I’ve removed all other treats (she used to love sweet potato treats but I stopped them recently to see if that was influencing the inflammation)

7. Vaccination history / exposure to toxins,
- She’s received all the regular vaccinations on schedule in Florida
- Exposure to toxins is likely high outside of the home. Inside the home we keep it pretty low toxin/all natural products, although there’s mold in most homes in Florida so I’m sure she’s been exposed to mold. Sadly the neighborhood sprays the lawns a ton and she eats the grass a ton so I’m sure she’s been exposed a ton to glyphosate and such.
- Lots of tick bites
other medication
- Don’t Lyme Me (natural, herbal product)
- Standard Process liga1 and liga2
- fish oil/omegas
- Biotoxin Binder by Cellcore Biosciences
- T-Relief Arnica+12 homeopathic drops very frequently since this began
- Black Seed Oil (just started)
- CBD oil at night

8. Primary problem:
Primary problem is lameness/inability to stand up from back legs or propel herself from back legs in order to jump up onto furniture. It began in October. She started having switching lameness in back legs. First it was the left leg, now it is right. She no longer jumps up on the bed or other furniture she was allowed to go on and she used to be able to jump really high onto a very high day bed. She mostly has a very hard time standing up. Front legs seem fine. Her walking had mostly been fine once she managed to get up, although sometimes she does seem to not want to walk as much. This past month however, you can tell there is an awkwardness to her gait, her hips sway/shift more in an awkward little way as she walks. Almost as if she is stiff or something getting in the way of flowing movement.

At the same time this all began, she coincidently also lost her bark quiet a bit (from a big loud schnauzer bark to a more squeaky and high pitched one like someone losing their voice) and she started getting scabs in her ears. A month symptoms began she did get a Lyme diagnosis through the heartworm test. We recently tested more thoroughly and her C6 is 17 and negative on everything but for Borrelia, which she did test positive for.

We spend the spring and fall often in upstate NY so she has had a total of about 10 tick bites in her life. She was never vaccinated for ticks as I try to use natural means as much as possible.

9. Is the condition better or worse from exercise, heat, cold, time of day, certain foods, emotional upset, being touched, excitement, etc?

It is worse after she has been laying up for a while and tries to get up. Once she’s been moving around for a bit and warms up, her ability to stand up improves a bit. I don’t seen any other conditions improving or worsening, it has just been progressively getting worse over all since it started.

10. Has any diagnostic work been done?
We have done almost every test the vets can think of and they are stumped. I’ll attach the reports.
In addition to her regular vet who is holistic, we saw an orthopedic vet. She doesn’t see any evidence of something physically wrong with her such as torn ligaments and that it might be poly-arthritis. We will do a joint tap test next week.
Canine chiropractor also doesn’t see anything wrong with her.
Vet did all the movement-based neurological tests and she passed all of them and so they are baffled.
The diagnostics we ran are the C6 panel and full bloodwork, Urine analysis for proteins, Xrays of spine, hips, knees, joints of feet. The Xray reports for every part but the feet came out good except for showing a little bit of inflammation (we are still waiting for the feet X-rays).

11. Current and previous treatment.
No real treatment yet as they are stumped. But we did shift her to a fully raw diet, are naturally treating the Lyme and giving her ligament and detox supplements. She’s also doing leash-walks only. But restraining her movement hasn’t seemed to help either. We did 4 sessions of chiropractic and 1 session acupuncture session and she would feel better from both after but none has resolved the lifting/getting up which is progressively getting worse

12. Other health concerns. Her legs do tremor/shake here and there but I never thought of it out of the ordinary. It seems to have gotten a tiny bit more often perhaps since this happened.

13. Tag a doctor: @Dr. Jeff, @Dr. Christina

Thank you so much for any guidance!!!

Thanks Shirly for your thorough post.

Sky is one lucky pup to have such a dedicated mom as you!1738891289641.png

If you would consider virtual treatment by a classical vet homeopath, I think that’s the way to go.

Yeah, I can see why he said that:) You've done great, with all the adjuncts and the testing. And yep, it's complicated. But I can see why all this points to a broadly systemic derangement, eminently suitable for homeopathic treatment. The lameness is only one small indication of what's going on with her, and, as such, not the main focus of a resolution - but I feel it WILL resolve, as other elements are addressed and resolved. She's one lucky girl to have you! And this will be interesting to follow for us all, too:)

Thank you so much. You all offer this, yes? How do we set one up? Appreciate it.

Thank you so much @Dr. Jeff . We will absolutely book an appointment with you immediately. By the way, we have a joint tap scheduled for Monday. As you know these are very costly. Do you think we should still go through with it or wait until after our appointment with you?

Great question Shirly!

The information a tap would provide is useful but not essential.

if you’d like to know more about the “cause” And if it’s not too stressful for Sky to have an extra vet visit then go for it!

Thank you so much. So are you saying, if money wasn't an issue, would you be recommending we get this to guide you in your treatment of Sky?

The biggest question is how stressful it would be for Sky to go to the vet and have the procedure
