Simparica trio adverse reaction

Hello everyone,

I am new to this forum. Our fur family includes:

Abbi (standard poodle) - 14 yo
Cece (dog - Havanese) - 2 yo
Olive (dog - Havanese) - 20 weeks
Evie (dog - Havanese) - 15 weeks
Blubelle (cat - Tonkinese) - 9 yo

Evie came to us at 8 weeks - after being carefully socialized and imprinted - chosen to be trained as a service dog for my son. She was perfect until last week when she suddenly developed fear aggression with strangers. With her breeder/trainer we were unable to identify any traumatic event leading to this sudden change. However, it occurred within a day of taking Simparica Trio. I’ve researched and found this to be an adverse effect that should resolve after the medicine leaves their system.

Has anyone else had this occur, and, if so, how did you handle it?

So grateful for any insight 🙏🏼

Welcome to HA! And thanks for making your first post.

I'm super sorry to hear about the challenges you are having with Evie.

Yes (unfortunately). It is a result of a disruption in her delicate puppy homeostasis and will be transient. You can read a bit more about this approach to maintaining her vitality (and cellular energy) and balance here:

And there are specific actions that you can take right now to help her body to rebalance as all animals (and other parts of nature) are able to do.

A good place to start is by taking the HA! 101 course. It would be super helpful if you can take it before we speak on Mon. If you prefer, you can reschedule for this Fri at 5 as it just opened up.

Also, what does Evie love to do more than anything else? For example, does she play with Olive, have any favorite games or toys (a snuffle mat?), etc?

The more time she spends in this zone of joy, love and purpose, the faster she will return to a normal equilibrium.
