Hi there @Dr. Jeff, @Dr. Christina

I'm a member who joined today. Thank you for this opportunity.

1. Your pet's name, age, sex
Bradley, 11 year old male

2. Neutering status
Neutered prior to us adopting at 14-months-old.

3. Breed
Huntaway (a large New Zealand working breed)

4. Approximate weight
46 kilos

5. What's their BEAM (behavior, energy, appetite, mood)
Relaxed disposition but very low in energy. Appetite is normal. He's had a few days of exhaustion but perked up this evening.

6. Diet
Since we adopted - homecooked stews alternated with different meats, offal, chicken & fish, eggs, ginger, bone broth, raw brisket bones. Occasional topper of raw freeze-dried all-natural food 90% lamb 10% fruit & veggies.

7. Vaccination history / exposure
Bradley had his core vaccines (in New Zealand this is parvo & kennel cough) till around 5-years-old. Nothing for 6 years.

*************

My dear boy was diagnosed 18 days ago & we are in pieces. I'm hoping I can have a phone discussion with Dr Jeff so we can find the right constitutional remedy for my boy.

I am waiting for a test to determine T or B cell.

He's on no medications. I have done nothing different, as I'm worried about making things worse.

Spleen/liver & chest xray show organs are not enlarged or affected as yet. Found early.

He takes MyBeau - a food-based multivitamin & mineral for seniors. He LOVES it. It does have canola oil, unfortunately, so I guess I should stop this?

I've also read AML loves B6. Not sure if that applies to CLL. :(

Can you recommend anything I should start my boy on to help slow this & keep his wee system strong?

I read that some mushrooms can stimulate B cell growth, so haven't touched.

Fenbendazole - an option for this cancer?

I will do ANYTHING to give my boy as much quality time as possible. He is our EVERYTHING. He is our son.

I only want to give what you feel is needed, not overload his sensitive system.

Welcome to HA! Brooke!

Bradley’s diet sounds great!

Yes! As I wrote in your email, I think the very best you can do right now is double up on the things that Bradley loves and that makes him happiest.

And double the amount of time he spends outside.

Yes!

Yes, I’m not thrilled about the #1 ingredient in the supplement being canola oil or that it contains Brewers Yeast.

You should be able to get Pentagenesis in NZ.

And DrJean can help you with the great food based Standard Process supplements.

@Dr. Jeff

I do this with Bradley every day & tell him how important he is. I've felt so helpless, so it's nice to know these little things make a difference. Thank you. 🙂

@Dr. Jean Hofve if you are able to suggest supplements you feel would be a great support to Bradley for his leukaemia, I would be most grateful. 🙂

There are some wonderful holistic veterinarians in NZ.
One who has spoken for us is Dr. Liza Schneider. Here is one of her talks so could get to know her.

Also it would be good to listen to all of our Jan and Feb talks as they are about how not to fall apart with a serious diagnosis. Every day is a treasure in life, full of miracles and often we forget this until there is a serious diagnosis. Focus on enjoying every moment while you make you decisions about care.

Our past Monday talk was by Eric Bates about a powerful (especially for cancer) healing approach you can learn yourself (and Dr. Schneider uses it too).

Thank you so much Dr Christine. 😊

I was seriously considering an appointment with Dr Liza, initially, but then discovered Dr Jeff & thought I'd save my pennies to hopefully have Bradley's case taken.

I'm busy listening to your discussions, which have been a Godsend. 😊 Your breathing exercises you were explaining in a recent video were SO helpful to me!

I am trying to be mindful everyday that each moment with my boy is a gift. I was in shock the first two weeks. I will have a listen to that video, thank you. 😊

I've used homeopathy myself for 20 years. I know Bradley's CLL is incurable, but with homeopathy in the world, I will always have HOPE in my heart.

I am so worried about giving Bradley any supplements that may inadvertently feed his cancer cells. Is this a legitimate concern? I read studies explaining AML loves B6 & there's a mushroom that feeds B cell CLL apparently (not sure which Bradley has as yet).

His BEAM has improved hugely over the past couple of days. :)

Potentially, yes. However:

Wonderful! 😍 :snowman:

In my opinion, this is the most important part of any treatment decision you make Brooke. If you follow his BEAM by optimizing his joy, love and happiness he will have the best life possible.

Thank you for the reassurance Dr Jeff. 😊

From what I can see, New Zealand has now taken Fenbendazole off the market completely. 😣
