Hi everyone-

Mattie Mae has had a big abdominal tumor for about 3 months.

Her BEAM is great and there really aren't any good 4 P symptoms.

We are therefore monitoring tumor size using abdominal girth which is an indirect measurement of tumor size.

This method also works well for bloating, monitoring weight, etc.

You can do this with a flexible tape measure like one used in sewing.

Measure your pets' abdominal circumference about 1 inch from the last rib (toward the tail).

Keep this valuable data in your journal and see if it correlates with any treatments or lifestyle change.

You're welcome Kristin.

It's more effective to monitor mammary tumors or other external tumors by using a caliper.

A pair of calipers is a worthwhile (and inexpensive) investment.
