Itchy scabby ears

Bobby's ears have been itchy this Spring, and we're doing all we can to get him into balance, but until then, he's scratched the inside of his ears in a couple spots until they're bleeding. A scab will form, which is great, but then he scratches it open again before it's fully healed. What can we apply in the short term to relieve the itch and heal the wounds? Is there a doggie Neosporin?

So great that you are focused on a return to balance.

Yes, there is neosporin for dogs, and even better are dozens of different holistic approaches that are safer for Bobby and the planet.

Flower essences; herbs; energy treatments like Reiki, HTA or Bengston; home products; TTouch; socks on feet and many more. Each animal reacts differently, so you may need to try one for a few days, then move on to another. You can certainly do more than one at a time and if improvement, stop one at a time.

Doing a search at the HA site on ears ("ears" - Holistic Actions!) gives you many different talks we have done on ears to give you many different ways to help Bobby.

Hey Danielle-

In addition to Dr. Christina's great suggestions I'd add topical aloe vera to help heal the sores (use peroxide to gently remove the scab) and True Blue ear wipes to clean and soothe:
