Hi everyone:

Whew!

There were lots of details about the heart on today's webinar.

Let's make forum posts about any (or all of them).

For example, one of the most common kitty heart health challenges is cardiomyopathy.

Most commonly in older hyperthyroid cats.

Heart dis-ease from hyperthyroidism is really the only good reason (that I know of) to treat a hyperthyroid kitty with drugs.

Safely wean the doses of the life-saving drugs by using HMDM for any medical decision you make for you kitty.

Let's take the situation of the great internal symptom of elevated proBNP.  The abnormal blood test tells you that the heart muscle cells are getting damaged. Probably from the direct effect of the thyroid hormone.

If you're not already working with a homeopath, one of the fastest ways to safely reduce thyroid hormone is with the drug methimazole.

However, if your kitty is already being treated by a vet homeopath, molecular vitality, balance and individuality show that stimulating the body to heal with a homeopathically prescribed medicine is the fastest and most effective treatment.

Unfortunately, most animal guardians do not have a homeopath, so they choose to use methimazole (tho some may do radioactive iodine treatment). Like any drug, using it comes with some risk.

But the risk of death from arrhythmia is greater.

At least until your vet homeopath gets to know your kitty and her symptoms well enough to prescribe a transformative remedy.

In the meantime, the fantastic internal early warning sign of elevated proBNP is also a great way to monitor homeopathic treatment.

For example, as the internal imbalance of the vitality gets treated, blood test results normalize just like externally observable symptoms.

When they all normalize, the methimazole can safely be weaned and stopped.

So it's good to know that thyroid hormones exert a direct effect on heart cells. Causing them to hypertrophy (grow). And these abnormal cells can be measured indirectly using a blood test.

Monitoring and trying to normalize heart function needs to be the priority of any kind of treatment for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy associated with hyperthyroidism in cats.

As we discussed briefly today, health and vitality of any cell is dependent on the mitochondria.

Especially the thyroid and the heart.

Interestingly, another form of mitochondrial dysfunction is in hypo-thyroidism.

Such as occurs genetically in some Boxers.

Who interestingly also have a high rate of cardiomyopathy.

Coincidence or not?
