Hello everyone. I’m Sara. I have 3 cats. Gypsy, Freya, and Dagger. It’s great to be here!
My question is about Gypsy. (This post is long but I want to make sure I don’t leave anything out.) She’s a female Tortoiseshell. She is spayed. She is 9 Ibs. I think she’s around 11 years old. I rescued her one cold December night in a blizzard. She has not left my side since and is my baby. Her BEAM has always been really good. Lots of energy. She loves running really fast outside and in the house. She’s a Tortie so of course she has an attitude and is very very vocal. She’s a bit feisty but she’s a lover and loves to cuddle too. She does attack and hiss at my other two cats. I’ve had them for 4 years. Recently she had some energy work done in December 2021 and she has been so much better with the other two cats. She even licks them and plays with them once in awhile. She has a great appetite. Always letting me know when she’s hungry. She’s a grazer. She has been on an all raw food diet for the past 2 years. Before that she was on dry food when I first got her. She ate that for 3 years and then she was on honest kitchen for about two and a half years before transitioning to raw in March 2020. I’m not sure what her vaccination status was before I got her but I refused vaccines for her until June 2019 when I was told by a holistic vet that she had to get the rabies vaccine if I was going to travel with her. I’ve attached her test results and her vet records from the holistic vets. I do not have the other records from other vets that I have taken her to over the years all they did was prescribe her antibiotics that I would sometimes give her. They diagnosed her with feline herpes virus. No conventional vets would ever do testing on her even though I asked them to many times! She started having some symptoms about 3 years after I got her. (2015)
We had just gone through a stressful event. A tornado had hit our house and we had to move. Watery right eye and swollen. She was diagnosed with feline herpes virus and given antibiotics. I don’t remember which ones.
She continued to have these symptoms on and off for the next few years But it was mostly just a watery eye once in a great while. In 2016 we became homeless so that was very stressful on her. We finally settled into a place in 2017. All the homes that we lived in or hotels that we stayed at had high levels of mold. Living at The house we were in from 2017 to 2019 I was very stressed out so I’m sure she could feel it. She would get flares of the herpes virus and homeopathic remedies would always help. I can’t remember everything she took but I do know that she took Euphrasia and Merc Viv. She also started to get yeast infections in her ears. Especially the right ear.
In 2019 we moved again which was very stressful for her. We lived in a hotel she got fleas and I couldn’t get rid of them so I had to give her a pill from a conventional vet. Her health declined after that flea medication. At this time we were living in an RV trying to figure out a house to settle into. Very very stressful for her. Her breathing got really bad her right eye was full of gunk. I had her hair analysis test done in 2020 by a holistic vet. I will attach it below. Also brought her to a conventional vet that prescribed antibiotics and said it was just feline herpes virus there’s nothing that they could do about it. I did give her one of the pills and she started foaming at the mouth and I immediately stopped them. September 2020 we moved into our current home. In October 2020 she developed a corneal sequestrum on her right eye. Brought her to an Eye specialist Who prescribed antibiotic ointment for her eyes which i used for a couple months hoping that this sequestrum would fall off, it did not and is still on her eye to this day. I brought her back to her holistic vet who denied that she had an ear infection said there was nothing that they could do about her eye and prescribed her homeopathic remedies that did nothing. I let that vet go Because I felt like she wasn’t really interested in helping my cat and just guessing at this point. She now has swollen upper eyelids(lots of gunk) as you can see in the picture she is more tired than usual but she will still play and go outside and her appetite is still very good. I recently switched her to a different raw cat food brand and she loves it! I add a multivitamin to her food as well and salmon and cod oil. She gets big raw chicken pieces as well for dental health. I brought her to a new holistic vet and she diagnosed her with a severe yeast infection in her right ear. Ulcers in both eyes. She also mentioned possible cancer but didn’t do any tests. She put her on an herbal tincture. Dr. Xie’s Jing Tang WEI QI BOOSTER. It does seem to help with her breathing issues. She also takes l-lysine 1000mg once per day, Sea Meal, Mary Ruth’s Probiotic, Polipet humic and fulvic acid. One more thing to mention is she does have a cyst on her back one of her vets called it a water cyst and popped it but it came back. Her eyes also twitch sometimes. Maybe neurological? I will do Anything it takes to get her better. She’s my best friend! Thank you for taking the time to read this.
What a challenging few years you all have had, Sara. Gypsy is blessed with all the care you have been giving her.
Sometimes one or two treatments resolves the deep energy imbalance and an individual stays healthy the rest of their lives. More often, in our stressful world, your path is the norm - trying one approach after another, one practitioner after another.
Possible next steps for you would be totake the 101 course(5 sections) and follow up on all the links in it. Download the healthy cat journal. Using those two you may be more clear on the timeline of triggers and what helps most. Thinking from the perspective that symptoms are the animal's attempt to return to health will help you focus on quality of life, as you are doing.
And continue, with the help of the course (section 5 has link or go directly to holisticactions.com/select) , to create your healing team. Check out the energy healing methods in our webinars- Bill Bengston, Eden Energy Medicine, Reiki.
You may want to treat yourself to the de-stressing class on May 14 - a whole day designed to decrease the stress you feel, even with challenging circumstances.
Dr. Christina is there a brand of eye drops you can recommend for her to get some relief until I can start working with these homeopathic practitioners? Her eyes are so bad right now she can barely open them. Thank you!!
Clear eyes, full heart can’t lose with Eyes So Bright! Your pet can gaze at you lovingly without any eye boogies and crusties getting in the way. All you have to do is pour a little bit onto a cotton ball and gently rub around your pet's eyes. Don’t worry about drying or burning. We only use...
Dr Christina would the fact that Gypsy "hasn't been well since" be a strong rubric to work toward the best remedy to rebalance Gypsy's little kitty system?
