Hello, what are your recommendations for preventative measures for foxtails that are stuck in the positive poodles?

Hi Jill!

These work well:

BTW-What's a positive Poodle?

Usually you can remove with tweezers. If there seems to be a bit of swelling or irritation, I would rub on some hypericum gel or cream.

There are also booties in addition to Dr. Jeff's suggestion of a mask.

One concern for foxtails is if they migrate internally, bringing bacteria, etc, with them. When you are maximizing vitality and balance this would be unlikely to be a problem.

When checking after a walk for ticks, fleas and foxtails, a flea comb with narrow teeth can be useful.
