Food dish for cats - is there a preference?

I was wondering, since my 15 year old cat Bella has changed her behavior recently and began moving her raw food diet from her pet dish (which I thought was fairly wide but does have tall walls) onto her little mat under her dish, which is getting quite messy. Though I will have the vet look in her mouth when she sees him in the near future for blood work (she has early stage kidney disease) to rule out anything with her teeth, I was wondering, and have since changed over to, my own little plates from my dish collection. I'd like to get them their own for sanitary reasons, but is it best for kitties since they have anatomical difference than us humans, like...whiskers, to feed them on a flat object instead of one with rounded, taller sides? Just curious. I will also ask her animal communicator which I will be making an appt with soon as well. @Dr. Jean Hofve @Dr. Christina @Dr. Jeff

My kitties and Maya (new rescue pup) love their Mine Pet Platter:

My best thrift store find was a set of shallow, wide-rimmed ceramic soup bowls that kept crumbs in, were heavy enough to not slide, and allowed great food access.
