Hello,

I discovered a bloody scab between my cats ear and eye. Could this be from her scratching? I haven’t been seeing her scratch a lot. Just once but maybe she has when I’m not looking. If she is scratching could it potentially be from fleas or from a reaction to food? I flea comb her twice a day. I did see a flea on her a couple weeks ago. And the last 2 1/2 weeks I’ve been fostering a five week old kitten and she has been very unhappy. I’ve also been giving her some canned food that I consider more like junk food canned food and a little dry food just to try to make her happy because she loves it. Very little though to try to get her to eat on the other side of the door where the kitten is at Basecamp. I put some pure calendula balm on it. Do you have any suggestions? Any idea what this could be from? Thank you so much!

The ear looks clean, so it could be just an injury, or random itch.
Is the kitten playing with her?
Calendula is fine.
skin itchies are common on dry food and even canned food for some cats who are sensitive to it. maybe try some freeze dried chicken hearts, wysong dream treats or other dehydrated/dried protein.

No, the kitten and her haven’t met/seen each other yet. I am still tryin to feed on opposite side of the door. Initially, I was not going to keep the kitten so I was not trying to integrate. I started trying to integrate a few days ago. At the moment I’m feeding her Viva raw. But I was putting a little teaspoon of the lower quality food as a treat because I know how much she loves it. I definitely have freeze dried treats. One that she loves is coming in the mail. I thought it might be sensitivity to some of the new food. Thank you.
