Hi all,
I'm not sure if anyone is familiar with potpelly pigs enough to answer this question but figured I'd give it a try. We have a 10 year old potbelly pig who lives indoors and does EVERYTHING with us she is very very active. She is at a perfect weight and very healthy however she had a minor accident where we were worried about her leg and we got her xrays. Her leg is fine but they noticed she has very mild beginning arthritis, they were able to see beginning signs in the xray. They recommended we give her cosequin and follow the dosing instructions for a dog. I am unfamiliar with this supplement. Is this one safe and is it recommended to give her? Any other thoughts on how to support her and ensure she has a long pain free rest of her life. They can live another 10+ years so really want to ensure we start now and set her up for success. Thanks so much for any insight!
More info:
Her name is Moto, she is 10 and our best guess is she is a potbelly mixed with some farm pig because she is long and muscular not stubby and round.
She is neutered. Weighs 148. Her BEAM is 10 (other than nursing a sore leg a bit at the moment from an unrelated fall)
I think when she was young young we got her vaccinated one time for rabies but that's about it. She isn't around other pigs.
