Thanks, @Dr. Jeff,
The vet who saw him yesterday wants to re-splint tomorrow which means more sedation because the swelling has gone up.
Do I need to space the two apart? I have been giving him one tsp of arnica water pretty frequently, mostly every hour more or less depending on my...
Update:
They did X-rays on his foot and chest as well as his mouth. They removed the tooth, but didn't really clean it up. They said his jaw is partially shattered so they need to remove the bone fragments and clean everything up at a later date. He has two compound fractures in his foot which...
@Dr. Jeff. They will definitely push antibiotics, pain med, and other. Would you be willing to give me your opinion on any "safer" pain medicines if they take the same stance as the emergency vet? Also, antibiotics if he was bit by a raccoon? My brain says no, but my gut is unsure. Is doing...
His regularish vet is squeezing him in tomorrow morning to deal with the tooth properly. They will want to give him all sorts of stuff too. I get so lost on what is the least bad thing.
@Dr. Christina @Dr. Jeff
Vet won't give him a real exam without opioids. Is there one that is better or do I just leave? I completely forgot to bring flower essence. Swelling has decreased a bit, but now I can see a potential puncture.
Thank you.
Upon closer investigation it looks attached to some gum ball. Guessing it could lead to bleeding if I try to mess with it.
He hasn't. No vets around here really accept it and the one who does it charges so damn much I just stopped giving him the shot. Is titers something I can do...
Hi BEAM isn't great. Lethargic, definitely seems uncomfortable. Haven't offered food, but doubt he'd want because of the tooth. Not wanting my attention so much, but also not trying to get away from me. He's walking around a bit between two places to get comfortable, but they are close to each...
My senior cat came in from outside and I noticed his tooth was sticking out his mouth. Seems it came out from the root, but is stuck on the gum (see attached photos). He also seems to be limping from his left back foot. Not sure what happened to him, but I did see a racoon in my backyard a bit...
Mutsu, my Frenchie is doing better. His breathing didn't reset to normal until the following morning, but has been fine since. I have been able to get the abscess down too, though still not completely normal.
At this point I know I need to settle nerves around it and it happening again, but it...
He started chewing the animal part after I did some ear work on the good size. But now it looks like he may have an abscess in the hurt ear. At least it's swelling behind the cut, I think that's what an abscess is. I cleaned it with soap and peroxide best I could. Will try some silver hydrosol...
I just gave him a freeze dried animal part and he's doing the normal run around excitedly with it in his mouth, but hasn't started eating it. He just keeps looyat me and breathing a little heavy with it in him mouth.
Tried a second one he normally chows down. He took it, but then put it down...
Behavior is normal I think.
Energy is lethargic.
Appetite, hit or miss on treats. Haven't fed dinner yet
Mood is a calm, which he is sometimes, but not usually on a sunny day when I'm home. But I can touch him fine, even his ear, but he's not really rolling over to give his belly as he usually...
His gums are pink. Where do I check the capillary refill time on, his ear, his pad? He has taken a couple treats, but he has also spit some out. Not really appetitive. He can walk just fine, but mostly wants to rest. I haven't checked his heart rate or temperature, but can do that now. While he...
My new 70 lb rescue and my 25 lb frenchbull dog got into a fight. The little one definitely started it, but no matter he is also the one who got his ear bit. I'm managing the ear fine, but he is also seems to be a little shallow in his breathing. We had just gone on a decent walk and everyone...
Thank you, @Dr. Christina and @Dr. Jeff
I meant to question if arnica was going to be strong enough for the pain, which the vet he said is what was making him not want to eat. I am not great with the energetic modalities (even though I have immense faith in their abilities), but I have been...
@Dr. Jeff
His BEAM was not great. No appetite of anything, even freeze dried hearts, his favorite snacks or even canned food, no purring, no playing, no cuddling, also a bit grumpy. He did visit the vet today. They diagnosed him with Pancreatitis and convinced me he needed everything. I find...
