Yellow mucus & orange poos

@Dr. Jeff

Bradley is still doing very well but for the past fortnight, he's lost his appetite in the morning & really just wants an egg for breakfast.

He had one day of nausea, where he vomited up his breakfast & felt sick that morning but improved as the day went on.

I have cooked for him since I adopted him, at 14 months. I know his system - & what he tolerates - SO well. Since he's been diagnosed with Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia, he goes through these periods of digestive upset, where his poos are an orange colour, mushy, with yellow mucus that's often clear & jelly-like. He poos on his walks, so there's not urgency there. He sleeps through the night etc.

I'm wondering if you had any advice? Worth getting some bloods for liver & pancreas? Any natural things I could try?

I wonder if Bradley is a little less tolerant of fat these days. Reducing the fat content could help. Or else you could consider adding some pancreas if you can get it. If not, you could try freeze dried pancreas. Another option is digestive enzymes.

Sure!

It would be helpful if you could share some context about Bradley and his CLL in this thread. For example, how and when was he diagnosed? His species age, breed, etc. If this is all in another thread then please include that link here.

In CLL diagnostic exams and blood tests every few months is a good idea.

Regarding his mushy and orangey stools, I love Nancy's suggestion as well as some of their other products, rotating probiotics, fermented foods, Nutrigest, etc.

Are you working with a vet homeopath or other holistic vet?

Thank you for this advice Nancy. :)

You're right. Bradley has ALWAYS been sensitive to too much fat & proteins, which is why he had some carbohydrate in his diet (sweet potato).

Since diagnosed with cancer, I've reduced the carbs to almost nothing, since I know cancerous cells love carbs. I haven't changed his diet otherwise though, but it automatically means he's eating more protein & fats.

My old girl had digestive issues & I tried EVERYTHING to find fresh pancreas, to no avail. Thank you so much though. I'll organise some digestive enzymes. I hadn't thought of that!

Hi Dr Jeff,

Here's the link to my original post.

He gets tested every 6 weeks, at this stage.

Thank you for this advice. I'll organise all of these things for him.

No, I see a conventional vet & a member here, for my holistic advice. :)

www.greentripe.com carries fresh pancreas:

Might be hard to find locally, but I believe they can ship.
