Yearly Vaccination - How to handle

Hi friends, Chia is 1 year and 2 months pug - female, spayed. We used to exclusively see an allopathic vet (Banfield) that gave her all the regular full-dose vaccines when she was a baby (Rabies, DAPP, Leptospirosis, Bordetella).

Now that she's coming up on her second round, we hope to go about it differently. Especially given existing health concerns around liver/bladder stones, folliculitis, and UTI / MRSA causing incontinence during sleep). Currently BEAM is great - lots of energy, eating all her food, loves all people and dogs, happy girl. In the past she has had problems with BEAM and has had doses of hepar sulph (~March) and silica (~June). She takes Aminavast and l-glutamine daily, no other medicine.

Here is what one LA-based homeopathic vet recommended, hoping to get your distinguished opinion on this or other options:
  • Annual IDEXX Vaccine titer test ($416) - rabies, bordatella, parvo, distemper, influenza
  • Homeopathic Nosode vaccines if necessary (around $35 each x 5)
OR
  • Regular vaccines as covered by Banfield, one vaccine per month, vitamin A and vitamin C protocol between months (around $50, possibly weekly)

Hi Kamini-

Does Chia go to a boarding kennel or groomer who "requires" any vaccine other than rabies?

I ask because she may not even need the vaccine titer (unless you want "proof" of antibodies).

The majority of her immune response called innate immunity is not measured using titers.

@Dr. Jeff good question, no she does not. We tend to groom her ourselves, and only leave her with a neighborhood friend. No kennels.

Based on what you've shared, it sounds like we don't need to conduct a titer or further vaccination at this time.
