Someone asked about using mixed tocopherols (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) in their pet's food during the webinar Monday. I came across this technical data this morning:
"Mixed tocopherols have relatively low vitamin E activity and are a less stable compound than alpha-tocopherol."

In commercial pet foods, "mixed tocopherols" are usually used as a preservative for fats to prevent rancidity. If you are looking for vitamin E benefits, d-alpha-tocopherol is the natural form most useful to the body.
