Hi Dr. Jeff:

I came across an article that featured you discussing a holistic approach to kidney disease. One of the other veterinarians, namely Dr. Smitha, recommended desiccated sea plankton with electrolytes to help the kidneys function better and I was wondering whether you had any experience with this and if you could recommend a brand. I saw a product from Oceans Alive that is pure phytoplankton and another from Mr. Ros that is marine phytoplankton, both for humans. Any feedback/comments would be appreciated.

Thank you,
Keely D. Parr

Hi Keely!

I don't have any specific desiccated sea plankton experience, but will gladly research the products you mentioned.

In general, I definitely agree that phytoplankton would be great to add to Karma's diet (if he will eat with them added).

There are many great sea vegetable products. Sourcing is important. Bill Wolf spoke with us about this on the empower hour on 4/8/2019. His company is Thorvin.

Another slightly different product is the blue green algae from Lake Klamath. www.TheEdgeUp.ca has a good reputation.

Just checking, Keely, I think you are working with a vet homeopath, right?

As long as the sources are good and the drying done properly, there are many many benefits for all life to be fed sea vegetables. Plants certainly benefit, too.
