Hello,

We have been finding some carpet Beatles on the walls and moth larvae at the baseboards, not a lot but we want to do pest control and deterrents before it gets out of hand. I was thinking of sprinkling diatomaceous earth around the baseboards and carpet to see if that helps, but is it safe around cats? I had read that it isn’t good if the cats breathe it in. Are there any other nontoxic options to use in a home with cats?
I think they have come in from our front doorway so we’ll definitely do some additional treatments there.

Thanks,
V

That's what I would do as well. Perhaps tho keep the kitties out of the area until you vacuum up the DE in a day or so.

@Dr. Jean Hofve, would you use food grade DE around cats?
