Now viruses are in the news for dogs. I am currently in northern Wisconsin very close to the Michigan upper peninsula. My cousin in Florida heard the information below on the news. He was concerned. I am not worried because I know that homeopathy can help with treating the symptoms. We are just hearing this news now but apparently it has been encountered earlier this year in England. Have you heard this news? Is this new strain of Parvo spreading in your area? If so what are you recommending?

Dogs getting sick with parvo-like illness in northern Michigan, dying within 3 days

Similar to canine parvovirus in symptoms, an unidentified illness has been sickening and killing dozens of dogs in Michigan in the past month.
It first appeared in Otsego County but has been spreading through northern Michigan.
In an article in the Clare County Cleaver, Clare County Animal Control Director Rudi Hicks said that the virus is suspected to have come from Louisiana and kills infected dogs within three days of having symptoms.

Hicks said told the Clare County Board of Commissioners that more than 30 dogs have died of the disease just in Clare County as of Thursday. She said it is unknown how the virus spreads.

“They don’t know anything," she said. "The state is in a panic right now.”

While the symptoms such as vomiting and bloody diarrhea are like Parvo, tests come back negative, so it could be a new strain or something completely different, she said.

Vet in England issues stark warning as new strain of deadly parvovirus hits vaccinated dogs. (March 2022)

Parvovirus has been described by the People's Dispensary for Sick Animals as a 'nasty virus' which attacks a dogs intestine causing them to become dehydrated and suffered diarrhea and sickness
The Liverpool Vets say the virus is affecting both non-vaccinated and fully-vaccinated dogs, making them very poorly, reports the ECHO.
It said that an 18-week-old dog called Balou, which had been vaccinated at eight and 10 weeks, was confirmed positive for the virus on Thursday.

The spokesperson added: "Please be careful out there and if your dog has vomiting or diarrhoea, get them to the vet sooner rather than later.

"There is no cure for parvo, but early support with a drip and anti sickness plus antibiotics will help."

The warning from the Liverpool Vets come after another vets in the city warned of a spike in the virus.

Thanks so much for sharing this important update Cindy!

As of yesterday's news release below, this outbreak sounds close enough to standard parvo that the same remedies for prevention and treatment would apply.

The most frequently used remedy is Ars., but others, as well as the parvo nosode might also be useful.

@aruna, I'd appreciate if you point Cindy to Dr. Cooney's wonderful webinars about epidemics, parvo and the Genus Epdemicus method for choosing remedies for any epidemic.
