New diagnosis of possible IBD/lymphoma in cat

yesterday Dr. Feinman discussed
The diagnosis I received yesterday on my 15-year-old female cat after a sonogram. for the past few years I have noticed she has thrown up wads of tightly entwined fur. Her weight is now 7.8 which is down from her 9.2 in October 2019. My vet is concerned with her weight loss and doesn’t want her to lose anymore. However her appetite is lacking. Someday she’ll eat well and then other day she just looks at it and maybe takes a few licks. Yesterday she seemed interested in baby food and today not so much. I read Dr. Veronique‘s experience with her cat which is not the same exactly as mine but she is able to do so much more for her cat being she is a vet I love my vet but I feel my choices are so limited when I see so many other things that a homeopathic vet looks into. For instance vitamin D levels and things like that. I feel so lost right now like I can’t help except occasional check ups with my vet. I will try to offer her more Whole Foods there was a time she was eating the boiled chicken and then stopped that. The day of her test she was starving because she had to wait a long time before the test was performed and when she came home she literally ate two cans of fancy feast chicken and tuna. She kept it down! Right now my vet has her on Cerenia to keep her stomach settled and maybe reduce some of the inflammation. The Doctor Who did the sonogram said that her intestines were very swollen. Dr. Feinman mentioned getting a VDL test that might determine if this is IBD or lymphoma. After reading Dr. Veronique‘s thread I realize that’s not a test you ordered but a certain lab. I feel so torn telling my vet to use a different lab than the one she uses and I don’t know if she would do it. In that case how do I get to help my cat? I am interested in that test that might discern what this disease is that my cat has. The specialist who performed the sonogram thought we should do a biopsy and I am not going to do that because of her age and her underlying heart murmur. My vet agreed with that. it was also found that she had some
Granules in her urethra and they feel she has cystitis. I have not noticed any straining or any blood in her litter box.My vet wants to order an antibiotic for the cystitis. Dr. Feinman feels that might throw her off even more than she is (taking the antibiotic) she also wants to put my cat on a steroid but have to check with the cardiologist to be sure it is safe due to the heart murmur. I have not heard from her yet. I admire my vet and have been with her for years but I feel with a serious problem like this there is so much in between that could be done besides just taking a steroid and checking her every month. Dr Veronique is a vet and was able to do so much more for her cat. I don’t know what to do as a lay person that knows nothing about veterinary practices. I just know that my cat is relying on me to make good choices for her and I feel like I don’t know how to go about this. There are no homeopathic vets anywhere near me. Could Dr. Feinman be her vet long distance? How would something like that work? And I would like to do that in conjunction with my conventional vet. If I became a patient of Dr. Feinman would he be able to talk with my vet so she might be able to perform some of the hands-on thing that needs to be done like additional bloodwork etc. I would like that blood test to see if possibly we could discern if this is IBD or lymphoma. I apologize for this scattered message but I am really going back-and-forth in my mind about how to help my little girl. I want to add that this morning she did throw up which she hasn’t done in a while maybe five or six days. It doesn’t look like loose vomit but more like long and tightly in twined with fur in it. I was surprised to see this because I thought the Cerenia would keep her from throwing up.

Wow, thanks for your wonderful questions Jane.

Yes, VDI is a separate lab which runs the IBD/lymphoma test (it's actually a panel of tests).

You might be able to order the test directly from them and ask your vet to draw the blood and send it to them. It might be worth your giving VDI a call to inquire. BTW-They give A! students a discount, so if you order online, use code=holisticactions

I heard about an Antech test for IBD in dogs in people, but not sure they have a similar test to VDI.

Because the VDI test is unique, I bet that your vet would be happy to run it in order to get the additional info.

If your vet is open-minded and willing to add a vet homeopath to your vet care team, I'd be honored to try and help!

However, @dr_ judy herman might be able to take her on faster than I could since my initial evaluations are booked up for ~3 weeks:
