Hey all! I'm new here.
I have a brown tabby, about 10 yrs old. He is neutered. He is about 17 lbs. His BEAM is as follows:
  • B - Sleeps quite a bit
  • E - Low (see above)
  • A - Has been decreasing/non-existent, beginning the past few days
  • M - Up and down; grumpy after vomiting, but happy when he's doing/feeling good
His diet consists of (all you can eat or "always full bowl") American Journey Chicken Pate food. He will let me know when his food bowl is empty, and if I don't take action, will actually start to vomit.
I was also supplementing his food with some curcumin, krill oil, dehydrated vital essentials food, along with goats milk, and sometimes raw patties. I've been trying to transition him to raw food (ground chicken) with foodfurlife ezcomplete. I haven't begun using ezcomplete yet. Right now, I am going back to the basics - meds and american journey chicken pate food.
He has had vaccines. He's had all of the recommended ones. Right now he's taking b12, budesonide and atenolol.
He has GI issues (ibd or ibs). That's what the budesonide + vitb12 is for. Before it, he would vomit every day, several times a day for years.
He's also had teeth fall out and teeth extracted. It was stomititis. He now has one canine left, and the gum line is receding. We believe it's just a matter of time before it needs to be removed.
Lastly, he has a heart murmur (atenolol). I just saw the vet. recently, and he gave it a 3-4/5.
I believe he is immune compromised from the vaccines he got.
Here are recent tests:
Some patient history highlights (newest to oldest, in that order):

PHEW!!

So right now he's experiencing diahrea, vomitting, and is not hungry. He may have missed a few doses of budesonide/his meds.

Long-term goal: Get him off of all of his medications. I spoke with the vet. about this, and he felt comfortable with me decreasing budesonide and seeing how that goes. He did not want me to do anything with the atenolol. I heard slippery elm is good for stomach issues, so I have some of that. I heard Hawthorn Berry is good for heart murmur, so researching about that. I am to see a holistic vet here in a few weeks. And all of the vets. are closed today due to the holiday here.

Any recommendations what to do in the mean time? I was able to get him to take his meds by dropping his pills in his Fussie Cat wet food (I use as treats), and he ate that up (only about a spoonful of food), and is now very tired, and sleeping. He does not seem interested in his regular food (American Journey Chicken Pate). If it is the budesonide missed doses, how long will it kick in to make him feel better, if that is the case? will it help with the diahrea/vomiting and non-appetite?

thank you for your first post. Nice and complete.
Because of a lifetime of problems, now temporarily helped with drugs, I would strongly suggest working with a homeopathic or TCVM veterinarian. Read the article at "select", then check if any great ones are near you (after going to ALL the web sites that apply). If not, you can work by phone - go to www.theAVH.org (and the other homeopathy ones) and filter for phone. Start by seeing when you can get an appointment with Cooney, Sagrera, Herman, Tewari.

Begin now to learn an energy approach - we have covered many of the following in our webinars -
Reiki, HTA (healing touch for animals), EFT (emotion freedom technique), Bengston Method (book is Energy Cure), Eden energy medicine, Tellington TTouch, Acupressure, Chi Gong, Tui Na, Tong Ren, WEBB, Quantum Touch, Prayer; Hands on intention; Prayer; Theta healing, Scalar Wave; Angels; Emotion code. Also, learn how to energetically ask for yes/no answers to help decide of treatments, foods, supplements and much more. Dowsing, pendulum, body sway and many others.

You may also find it useful to download the healthy cat journal to track symptoms. Dr. Jeff will have some great suggestions, too, especially on Happiness protocol.

type it into the search bar. here is the link - Non member login - Holistic Actions!

Also that is one way to find the webinars. Or you can go to link to all webinars.
Also, take a moment to do at least lesson one about symptoms in the holistic health 101 class.

Welcome Luke!

Yes! Dr. Christina mentioned the Happiness Protocol that is exactly what would be great to start with Tiger.

Especially with promoting purring, Happy Dances and any outdoor exposure (maybe lying around on a sun porch).

Starting there will increase his appetite so you can start to offer freeze-dried chicken hearts as treats in a snuffle mat. The more he can snuffle, and play the hunt for treats game, the better.

Is 17 pounds a good weight for him?

Weaning the meds is a great goal, but it is also super important to address the underlying mild (according to his echocardiography report) cardiomyopathy.

The urine also looks fine but unfortunately Proton Drive couldn't open the blood work.

Starting to increase his cellular energy is something you can do right now. Learning any of the energy techniques that Dr. Christina mentioned would be wonderful!

However, you don't need to know a technique to start optimizing his energy. The most powerful tool is your visualization and intention.

As Dr. Seelye said in her webinar for HA! the combination of your loving touch and visualization works like "Magic".

If you haven't yet read through the 101 course in your member area, that's a great place to learn more about the Vitality (aka energy) and Balance that will help him to be the best kitty he can be.
