Hello fellow animal lovers. My 10 month old kitten recently lost hair around her eye lids and has a receding hair line after using Revolution flea. medicine. I found a supplement on Medical Medium's website for animals called BIXBI SKIN. & COAT.

It says its for pets with seasonal allergies but I thought I would give it a try anyway. It says to give double the dose for the first week only. I know @Dr. Jeff you said to always go really low (lower than recommended on the bottle) when giving supplements. It says to give 1/8 tsp for 25 lbs. She is about 10 lbs. I called the company and they said yes its okay to double her dose for the 1st week at 1/8 tsp. Should I continue with this supplement at all being she likely lost hair to side effects? The product is mushroom powder blend and can be found at wwwbixbiepet.com. Thank you for your guidance. I appreciate it! PS. I gave her 1/8 tsp which is the low dose for 3 days and today (as recommended by the company) I doubled the dose.

Hey Anna-

This should be fine to use at double the dose for bit as long as it doesn't trigger decreasing BEAM, diarrhea, bloating, etc.

Is it a powder?

Yes, it's a powder. I didn't know what to do so I stopped it. I will read about the allergies Aruna mentioned. I believe this happened as a side effect to the Revolution flea medicine she was on and that its no allergies but didn't think it could hurt to give it?

Nope it couldn't hurt (maybe some itch if she has an uncommon mushroom intolerance/allergy).
