my 16 year old cat Catrina
was diagnosed with IBD possible lymphoma. She’s down to 7.5 pounds and is very bony with little muscle mass. Her beam is moderate. I have been feeding her Friskies canned food which she seem to show an interest in. I thought this might put more calories in her. However this morning I found vomit so I don’t think it’s good for her stomach. I do sprinkle forta flora on food and sometimes she will not touch it because of that. I crush her Cerenia tablet every other day and put it in a little bit of cream usually she eats it but the past few days she hasn’t. She is so difficult to help because she won’t eat many things and if she does it’s only about a teaspoon at a time and over a whole day that might not even be a half a can of food which is the reason why she is not gaining weight. I have tried AD food and she won’t eat that either. it seems after she throws up she won’t eat for a while then because I guess she’s not feeling well. That’s the stage we’re at now. I put Miritizipine in her ear transdermally today and I will see if that increases her appetite. Has anyone had this problem and how can I help to get weight back on my kitty? She does eat rotisserie chicken but I fear it’s too salty cause she drinks and she is in early stage renal. Today I plan on giving her some salmon
