Fasting

I've read in many forums that it's good to fast your dog sometimes.... @Dr. Jeff - is it okay to fast Koby sometimes with his conditions? If so, how often? Just one meal per day or whole day (he usually gets 2 meals a day). Thanks.

Well, it depends on Koby's relationship to food at this time.

If fasting is at all stressful, then I'd hold off on it (or anything stressful) for now.

If going without food once/ week (or skipping a meal here or there) is not stressful, then yes, it can speed healing.

However, the effect of stress would override this effect, so no fasting if it adds stress by his looking for food.
