Diamond bladder stones

I seized a dog into animal control because owner never treated multiple UTI and she formed bladder stones which we had removed with surgery. Dog is a 11-12 year old spayed female Beagle/hound mix. The surgery was successful but my question is best food to feed a shelter dog. I know raw is best but town won’t buy that so we have to request donations. The traditional vet who did surgery will probably suggest Hills garbage. Anything I can add? This a 37 pound dog and is available for adoption! Ongoing cruelty case

I'll let the others chime on foods, etc. maybe tinkle Tonic if they will pay for it.

You bring up a very good issue - better foods in shelters and animal control. If they would allow people to donate food, maybe all the holistic pet stores would donate some, or even fresh food companies may donate some (there are always some mislabeled or poor label printing, etc).
