Canine's breathing is different

Hi All,
Fibi's breathing is 39 breaths per minute when resting. She seems "off" today and somewhat disoriented. Also, she's not wanting to get up for her usual rounds, checking to see when there will be banana treats, or other such snacks. She also pooped in he diaper which hasn't happened. I noticed last night that she seemed more tired than usual. She also did not wake us at 3;30-4am like usual. She slept till 6am.
I have a call into the vet to find out her resting bpm.

Any thoughts on what I should do?

Our vet doesn't work Fridays, so I want to be proactive during the rest of business hours now.

Thanks for any input.

She will see us at 6:15 today.
Is there anything I should ask?
She doesn't let us come in to the exam room, unfortunately.

Let us know what the veterinarian had to say.
And you may want to carefully read the article on finding a holistic veterinarian so you can work with someone who is thinking proactively and will let you be with Fibi .

maybe check out some of the ERs. A friend/client of mine found a wonderful one in her town today - not only let her in the room with her cat who had just died, but was very understanding, compassionate, and they let people stay with their animals in the cages if kept overnight!

Thank you Dr. Christina. She is as holistic as they come around here. It is her policy not to let pet guardians in. I was just venting yesterday, but begrudgingly accept the situation.

Here's the recap--
low grade fever
elevated platelet count
possible internal bleeding
possible Anaplazma
thyroid slightly elevated- reducing her med

Gave fluids
Gave Chinese herbs to help stop possible bleeding--Yunnan Bai Yao

She talks about Lyme and Anaplazma frequently.
Are Lyme and other tick borne illness as serious in dogs as she seems to feel they are??
She will want to go for doxy, in Fibi's case if the test is positive. I think she's really scared of tick illnesses.

On a personal note, I hope you will understand, that I have a disability. I can without a doubt take care of Fibi to the 9's, however, I have significant challenges reading/listening to much of any of the material that is offered on the website. This is why I'm asking here instead of referring to the info.

Thank you in advance for any insights!

totally understand.
Every holistic vet is different, and that is why your intuition (and maybe muscle testing) helps you decide what to do.
Personally, I only use doxy when a dog is symptomatic AND has blood work to show significant lyme, and are not responding to my homeopathic or other holistic treatments.

You may want to consider switching to a homeopathic veterinarian for your primary and using her for diagnosis and soothing approaches.

Go to www.theAVH.org - filter for phone and reach out to Drs. Herman, or Cooney or Sagrera
