Thank you Dr. Christina. She is as holistic as they come around here. It is her policy not to let pet guardians in. I was just venting yesterday, but begrudgingly accept the situation.
Here's the recap--
low grade fever
elevated platelet count
possible internal bleeding
possible Anaplazma...
Hi All,
Fibi's breathing is 39 breaths per minute when resting. She seems "off" today and somewhat disoriented. Also, she's not wanting to get up for her usual rounds, checking to see when there will be banana treats, or other such snacks. She also pooped in he diaper which hasn't happened. I...
Hi! Not sure of your name but I appreciate your insights with regard to the drug interaction and suggestion of freezing treats. We are looking into a lick mat. Maybe the Kong toy would be a great alternative or even addition. Thanks so much and I hope you will see this reply. It's always nice to...
Thank you all for your insights. I'm sorry I did not respond sooner. I'm used to the messages coming into my inbox.
@Dr. Jean Hofve, is the flower remedy Quiet Night something I should just use or should I have an appt with a certified flower remedy practitioner? She's a tough one at night...
Thank you for all of these wonderful suggestions Dr. Christina. We will be in touch with Judy Herman when she's back in the office tomorrow. I think though that we're past using flower remedies and waiting several weeks for anything to potentially kick in. That is the only reason we turned to...
Update- Fibi had what seemed like a reaction to Gabapentin we gave her for the first time in a while and Anypril. It looked like a vestibular episode but lasted all night long. We gave her a homeopathic remedy prescribed by Judith Herman but she did not respond. Eventually, we gave her Cerenia...
Hi all,
We are running out of things to try to get our almost 16 yr old female Havanese to sleep through the night. She's approx 9 lbs.
Beam-
Obsessed with food (it's pretty much all she thinks about).
Pretty low energy except for meal and snack times.
Mood (again) is always ready to eat her...
I meant safe for Fibi. Do you feel silicone is safe? Why the Mine platter as apposed to the licking mat?
We want to keep her stimulated throughout the day as much as possible. I see why the Mine platter is great too!
Thanks so much Dr. Jeff!
Fibi's BEAM is pretty good currently. No new symptoms either. Her urinalysis prior to the abax was cloudy, had a little blood and puss. Since the abax it's all clear. We cut the abax shorter than the vet prescribed.
What I don't quite understand is that we had not...
We have noticed a reduction of incontinence since giving Fibi DHEA at 10 mg's per day. Thank you very much for this tip Dr. Jeff!
Can we go up on the dosage? If so, how much more and is it better to give two doses a day?
Thank you for any insights on this!
Dr. Jeff (you) had suggested in our 15 min talk that we rotate a couple of different probiotics based on Fibi's recent UTI and also the fact that she was on abax for 10 days.
I did not hear them correctly and can not look them up now. Can you mention them here please? We have been giving her The...
