    Black paste from anal gland

Thank you @Dr. Jeff ! I only give ChewChew 1/4 of a 500mg tablet a day (~125 mg/day). By the time we sent in the recheck sample, he only had one full tablet. We wonder if his body did most of the healing work or the first urine sample was contaminated.

Internal medicine specialist/vet in SG valley (Southern California)

@ChristineL Our preference and goal are also collecting necessary information locally so we can work with Dr. Jeff. @Dr. Christina We don't have a holistic or integrative vet currently. We are looking for a new vet (hopefully holistic or integrative) as well.

    Happiness Protocol

Also, we gave ChewChew beef back ribs over the weekend. He LOVED it and was so satisfied. This was his first rib/complicated meal in quite a while. He's cleaned the meat so well off the bones. After his Happy Meal he did his happy dance, extra long version.

    Happiness Protocol

I just love this summary of life's joy, Ginny! @ChristineL For some reason I'm not getting the notifications of new posts on this thread so I just saw your suggestions. But it's like we are on the same wavelength. I ordered a lick mat and dehydrated lamb green tripe from Amazon a couple days...

    Happiness Protocol

Thank you, Dr. Jeff, Aruna, Christine, and Ginny! I really enjoyed reading what your pets love to do. @ChristineL , wow 7 snuffle mats and 10 snuffle balls ALL AT ONCE! That sounds like a great mental exercise for Hope. We tried snuffle mat a year ago. ChewChew was eager to get the treats (he...

Hi @ChristineL , somehow I didn't see a notification of your reply, so just see your message now. Yes, would love to know in case we don't find anyone closer who we like. Happiness Protocol

Inspired by the conversation between @GinnyW and @ChristineL in this thread , I thought I'd start a new thread to find out what everyone does with their pets for happiness protocol. I thought we could learn from each other and get new ideas to try and expose our pets to different experiences...

    Black paste from anal gland

@Dr. Jeff I called the vet's office after our HMDM call. They actually have a take home urine collection kit. We'll pick one up tomorrow, and collect next week. Thank you for the tip! ChewChew doesn't usually pee more than a couple seconds at a time. He likes to pee/mark as he sniffs and walks...

    Black paste from anal gland

Thank you so much @Dr. Jeff . It's always a pleasure speaking with you. We are looking forward to our (longer) regular appointment with you next week. I think we'll collect ChewChew's urine sample at home next week and drop it off at the current vet's office, as we might not find a new vet by...

Thank you @Dr. Jeff ! We have HMDM call with you tomorrow (Friday), and also previously scheduled an appointment with you for next Friday. Look forward to our calls. Black paste from anal gland

Thank you @ChristineL ! I think I have read about the Happiness protocols, but I'll revisit it again. When our pets look happy :dog2::cat2:, we are happy. Our vet just called me back, he said the blood test mostly looks normal, but urine test shows infection. He said he recommends treatment...

    Black paste from anal gland

Thank you, @Dr. Christina, for pointing me to those resources. I'll go through and read/watch them. I purchased Don Hamilton's book on Amazon last night. We'll be looking for a new local vet (hopefully holistic or integrative). In the last few years, every time we saw the vet we felt a decline...

Calcium supplements - Seaweed calcium vs bone calcium vs Eggshellent

We are currently not feeding our raw fed dog (12 years old) edible bones. We have used seaweed calcium from the Pet Health & Nutrition Center (PHNC) before and are currently using Eggshellent. I was on the PHNC website about to purchase another seaweed calcium and saw that they have natural...
