Well... I can count on one hand the number of times I've used an e-collar on a cat because I hate them... but in those days only the hard, opaque plastic ones were available, so I had good reasons for my dislike. That's a good article, Dr. Jeff, and covers the basic options. If I were a cat, I...
I would certainly take her to the vet to see what is really going on. If there is severe dental disease, it needs to be addressed properly. Cats are so stoic, it's very hard to tell, but dental disease can be very painful and spread infection to other organs like kidneys and liver. If it's...
Sorry but coconut oil is digested and removed at the level of the the small intestine, so it's not great for eliminating hairballs. Vaseline (or Laxatone, which is just flavored vaseline/mineral oil) is indigestible, inert in the body, and pushes the hair all the way out the other end, like it...
How wonderful to give this kitty a good home!
Here are the specific steps I recommend to introduce a new cat.

Not sure what parasite the vet is thinking of, but imo roundworms are not that dangerous! They are transmitted in poop, by a dog sniffing, licking, or eating it or eating something (like a tennis ball that has rolled through poop) in contact with it. Frequent cleaning is not necessary, though...
I would keep giving soft food to make sure she's getting enough nutrition, but if she's willing to even try meat chunks, that seems like a positive sign that it isn't terribly bothersome.
Interesting! I look forward to hearing what they say!
It does seem a little environmentally unfriendly to ship stuff to China and back! But it happens with a lot of things, like all Pacific salmon is shipped to China for processing.
I agree, leave it alone. It may be coming out from the socket by itself, or it could be broken, but chances are it will come off by itself. If it's broken and the root gets infected (you'd know by her behavior) then action may be needed. Arnica is a good idea.
Hi Jennifer! This a really interesting situation!
The one thing that comes to my mind is that there seems to be very little fat in her diet. Fatty acid deficiency (in this case, both essential fatty acids: linoleic acid (LA) and alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) can cause weird skin issues. Chicken...
Low/no oxalate, very high moisture... keep fluids flowing through kidneys and bladder! That is the #1 preventative for any kind of bladder stones. As the saying goes, "dilution is the solution to pollution!"
Raw is great, that diet looks fine, add extra water or broth.
I don't know of any such...
Nicaragua, wow! Happy to have you here!
Sounds like he's been eating mostly meat/fish for months. That is definitely not a balanced diet, especially for a kitten. Calcium is major concern--especially since it has everything to do with muscle contraction, which could affect that sphincter. I...
Keep in mind that you don't need to trim all 18 toes at once. One or two when she's sleepy is a great start. Do that every day or two and you'll make the rounds in good time! Definitely never make a "federal case" out of it. If she starts struggles, let her go right away. You want her to feel in...
I use plain Vaseline to, um, "grease the skids" in a truly constipated cat. But if poops are normal and she's not straining, probably not an issue. Raw food is super-digestible and there isn't a lot of waste (far, far less than dry food!), so this may be normal for her, especially when she is...
Well, my hemophiliac cat loved them (and needed them!)... he got them every day as treats for a couple of years. Probably at least 2 a day if not more, and he was about 9 lbs. It's just food, and whole food at that. Perfectly safe. I would give at least 2 a day if he'll eat them!
Could be laryngeal damage from a tight collar or pulling too hard on leash/chain, or collapsing trachea (though this sounds a bit more extreme than that). Drugs would not help. Agree with Ginny & Christina as to remedies.
Tiny amounts of dozens of things... not enough of any of them to actually accomplish much. Not to mention the misleading name--there are zero vitamins listed!
I wouldn't use both. It would risk overdoing especially the minerals like manganese and vitamin A. It's fine to use a separate glandular, the one I use is Grass Fed Organ Complex
That's a great premix, one of very few I like for cats. Iodine is an essential nutrient so that's fine, but unlike TC, that supplement is NOT intended to make a complete and balanced food. How can you tell? Only 63 mg of calcium. A 10# cat needs about 200 mg per day.
Except for B vitamins and...
